Team Managers–Please stop by the Team Manager table near volunteer check-in and say “Hi!” We would love to talk with you and see how your day is going. We will also have a little treat just for you and a chance to win our fantastic Team Manager basket! We will have someone at the table by 8:30 AM.
Tournament Schedule
The MCDI Tournament Schedule has been posted.
Check-in 20 minutes prior to scheduled Team Presentation time and 15 minutes prior to scheduled Instant Challenge time.
Engineering Teams: will check their box one hour prior to scheduled Team Presentation time. Check the schedule for your time.

Awards Ceremony
We will have two Awards Ceremonies this year! We hope you will stay for the entirety of your ceremony to show your support for all the teams in your level of competitions. High IC awards and prize drawings will take place at the end of each ceremony.
Where: Main gym of South Grand Prairie High School
When: Doors open at 5:00PM
Elementary Level Team Ceremony begins at 5:30PM
Upper Level Team Ceremony begins at 7:30PM
Arrive early to pin trade and hang out with other teams in the cafeteria.
Come ready to celebrate! Wear your craziest of crazy–hats, costumes, whatever!!! It’s time to Party!!
Parking
- Please see the green arrows on the map for correct entrances for the parking lot. Pink arrows will take you to the drop-off loop and to the prop drop. The wrong entrances will send you around the school.
- No parking in loading zones. See map for prop unloading location marked with a pink star.
- Please park in marked parking spaces only.
- Bus and trailer parking is marked on the parking map.
Restrictions
Mid-Cities DI follows all restrictions listed in the Rules of the Road p. 31-33 at our tournament.
The following items are restricted at MCDI tournaments:
- ABSOLUTELY NO WEAPONS of any kind, including replicas or representation of weapon use
- No Helium balloons
- Dry ice allowed with permission
- No Smoke/fog machines
- No Silly string
- Liquids must be in sturdy, well sealed container
- No lights may be turned off during a presentation
- No glitter or Confetti–These are banned at the Lone Star Finals
- No food or drink in the performance areas

Guide to Team Challenge Forms
Deadline is Sunday, February 15 by 12:00PM.
You will submit your Tournament Data Forms, Expense Report, and other team documents in the Resource Area of www.destinationimagination.org. Follow this link for instructions to access your team documents. You can also find more info in the Rules of the Road pp. 37-38.
Reminders/Tournament Notes
–Cell service is spotty in the school. You may need to step outside to make calls or to update your messages. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we must reserve WIFI service for tournament officials.
–Team Managers with multiple teams will not be allowed in the Instant Challenge room until their last team’s IC time. No exceptions. Elementary level Team Managers with multiple teams may be allowed to escort your team upstairs, but will not be allowed in the IC room.
–Texas eXtreme is not open to spectators. Because Texas eXtreme is very similar to Instant Challenge, only Team Managers will be allowed to watch their team’s presentation.

Teams Advancing to the Lone Star Finals
-Challenges with 4 or less teams in a level will advance 1st place teams.
-Challenges with 5 or more teams in a level will advance 1st and 2nd place teams.
-Bonus teams will be announced after February 22 Most districts do not support bonus teams.

Lone Star Finals registration deadline is March 6 and fees are $350.
Lone Star Finals April 10 and 11 @ University of Arlington.
A mandatory Going to State meeting will take place the week following tournament.
All Team Managers are required to attend a mandatory MCDI to Lone Star Finals virtual meeting on Tuesday, February 24 @ 7:00PM.
All team managers and team members will be require to wear the MCDI regional tournament t-shirt to the LSF award ceremony.
